In short: Tot Recall checks the products you save against published recalls and tells you when one may match. It can't find every recall or confirm that a product is free of defects, so always follow the official notice. The app is free. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.

1. Who we are

Tot Recall is provided by Bazaar Supply and Digital Inc. ("we", "us"). Tot Recall is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Canada, Health Canada, Transport Canada or any U.S. government agency. Contact: support@totrecall.ca.

2. Agreeing to these Terms

By tapping "Save and check for recalls" on your first product, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. The app is for personal, non-commercial use.

3. What the app does, and its limits

We compare the product details you save with recall notices published by Health Canada, Transport Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, usually about every 6 hours. Please understand that:

  • we only know about recalls once they are published, and sources can be delayed, changed or temporarily unavailable;
  • matching depends on the details you saved and the details in each notice, so we may show a possible match that isn't your product, or miss one where the details differ;
  • "No recalls found" means only that we found no match on the date shown. It doesn't mean a product is safe or free of defects;
  • alerts depend on your phone, its settings and your connection, and may arrive late or not at all;
  • the official notice is the authority. If it differs from what we show, follow the official notice;
  • we don't give medical, legal or product-safety advice.

4. What we ask of you

Enter product details as accurately as you can, keep notifications on if you want alerts, and read the official notice before acting. We also recommend registering your products with their manufacturers, especially car seats, so they can contact you directly.

5. Your list and account

You can use the app without signing up. Your list is stored under an anonymous ID so we can check it and alert you. You can save up to 100 active products; archived products do not count. This limit is a safeguard for the service. You can sign in with Apple or Google to keep your list across phones. You can delete your account and data at any time in Settings or at https://totrecall.ca/delete-my-data.html. How we handle your information is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Data and services from others

Recall information comes from the public sources listed in the app, and some product information comes from Open Food Facts and, if we turn it on, UPCitemdb. Photos on recall notices are loaded from the sources' servers; you can turn this off in Settings. Links to official notices and other sites are for your convenience. We don't control those sites.

7. Fair use

Please don't copy, scrape or resell the app's data or content, try to access other people's data, or interfere with the service.

8. Our content

The app, its design and our own text belong to Bazaar Supply and Digital Inc. Government and third-party content stays subject to its own licences.

9. Warranties

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties beyond those the law requires. If you live in Quebec, this section doesn't limit the warranties provided by the Consumer Protection Act.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our fault, or for gross or intentional fault. If you live in Quebec, this section doesn't apply to the extent that it would exclude or limit our liability for our own acts or those of our representatives.

11. Changes

We may update the app and these Terms. If a change significantly affects you, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then. Changes never apply to anything that happened before they took effect.

12. Ending

You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend access for misuse described in section 7. If we stop offering the app, we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app.

13. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You may also rely on the consumer protection laws of the province or territory where you live, and bring a claim in its courts. Nothing in these Terms requires arbitration or prevents you from joining a class action. If you live in Quebec, Quebec law applies and you may bring a claim in Quebec courts.

14. Reviews

Nothing in these Terms limits your right to post reviews or comments about the app or about us.

15. Language

These Terms are available in French and English. In Quebec, the French version is presented first; you may choose English.
